How to get started?

Install the Slack app by using this link: https://www.worknet.ai/install . You'd need to have Slack workspace permission to install apps. Invite the Worknet app to any channel that requires it. Type /invite @worknet or simply @worknet for each channel.

Is Worknet free?

You can try Worknet for free for a 14-day trial.

Which data elements are captured?

Worknet captures two types of data elements: 1/ users and 2/ messages info. To minimize risk the sensitive parts of each type are managed separately allowing each customer to skip capturing them.

Which messages are synchronized?

Only when invited to a channel Worknet will synchronize message history and on-going messages posted to this channel. By default, the last 90 days of message history is captured.

How is data in my account protected?

Worknet is using Google Cloud Platform to run its service. The primary persistency is Google BigQuery. The UI is using Slack standard UI building blocks. Which ensures Slack look and feel as well as Slack's permission and access control.

How do you ensure privacy?

What information may be shared?

Each company can decide to opt-in to share aggregated info, by company type (size, industry) and person's role (seniority, function).

How do you authenicate users?

Worknet is a Slack native app. It is installed by Slack workspace admin authenticated by their Slack credentials. All other Slack workspace users will automatically get access to Worknet Slack app services. No authentication is required. It is possible to control Slack users access to the Worknet Slack app home page.

How is the data broken down by sensitivity?

Low sensitivity - only Slack artificially generated IDs
  • ​​Slack users - Slack user ID, Slack team ID
  • messages metadata only - User ID, post time, reactions, user ID mentions, channel ID.
  • Slack users - Slack user ID, Slack team ID
Medium sensitivity
  • Slack users - name, title and email.
High-Medium sensitivity
  • Message text - two options: 1/ by default - tokenizing PII elements 2/ skip capturing message text all together.

Where is the data stored

Worknet is hosted in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data centers and in the US. Our data is stored in Google BigQuery segmented by customer. All data is transmitted encrypted using industry standard TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3. All storage is encrypted at rest under the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption at rest.

Each customer (tenant) is managed as a strictly separated data set. No co-mingling of tenant data. Slack artificial User ID (pseudonymized) is used with the Slack message data.  User name and email are kept in a separate place.
